Is that rain I see?
Jan. 7th, 2006 02:34 pmWell, I have had it confirmed by the SES (State Emergency Service) that we are entering another wet cycle, which happens in S.E. Queensland every 20 to 30 years.
Who would have guessed? :)
So, it is now just gone 2.30pm Saturday afternoon, and I have the lights on. The SES have been and gone, and have left behind a second line of sandbags. My neighbours are wandering by, asking me if I am expecting a war sometime soon :) I shall get them later, like at the residents' meeting on Tuesday afternoon, of which I am chair!!! Power...
Have finished reading chapter 1 of The Mind of Lichien for
ts5000 and have started pt 2 of the monster for
eretria and
auburnnothenna (all the while muttering "bloody hell, bloody hell, bloody hell!") and am keeping a close watch on the sky outside. Don't want to fry my computer, thank you very much!
And we can expect 36 hours of this ruddy weather... just heard thunder... and at this rate that cat will be packing her bowls, litter, toys and brush and leaving home. I may go with her... :)
