F'List, how does one lock posts for release later?

This is one for the writers on my f'list. Particularly eretria and auburnnothenna. A friend, ts5000 is trying to upload her HL fic to her ficjournal, and it has come to our attention that a number of writers are putting up all the posts of a story at once, then unlocking posts as they are required.

So folks, in simple language, how do we do this?
